At the initiative of Ukraine, a meeting of the United Nations Security Council will be held tonight, which should force the aggressor country of russia to accept a complete ceasefire. This was reported by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in his X-account on Thursday, May 29.
Sybiha stressed that Ukraine expects confirmation from partners that russia must be forced to stop aggression in order to start a meaningful peace process.
"Following the recent russian attacks that resulted in civilian casualties, we expect strong statements from our partners that will confirm the broad international consensus on the need to force russia to accept a complete ceasefire as the basis for a meaningful peace process," the Foreign Minister wrote.
Ukraine will also emphasize that it is necessary to increase pressure on russia while the aggressor continues attacks on our country and blocks the peace process, Sybiha stressed.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 22, Sybiha stated that russian dictator vladimir putin's statement on the creation of a so-called "buffer zone" indicates that the aggressor country of russia is the only obstacle on the path to achieving peace.
On May 23, Sybiha stated that Ukraine expects specific proposals from the aggressor country of russia on the introduction of an unconditional and comprehensive ceasefire.
On May 29, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov reported that Ukraine had conveyed to the russian side its vision of steps towards a ceasefire and was awaiting their "memorandum."
