The auction for booking monthly capacities for June for the transportation of natural gas from Greece to Ukraine under the new joint product of the GTS Operators of Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece ended with a zero result - no capacity was booked for June.
This is announced by the ExPro publication, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The report states that the new gas supply route to Ukraine was approved the day before.
The route provided for joint booking of capacities at entry/exit points starting from the Greek LNG terminal Revithoussa and ending with the entry point to the Ukrainian GTS Hrebenyky on the border with Moldova.
The proposed capacity was almost 3 million cubic meters per day.
According to the Ukrainian Gas Transmission System Operator, the estimated tariff for the new transportation product was EUR 7.8/MWh (including the cost of LNG regasification), which is 20% less than the current tariffs of EUR 9.77/MWh.
The new tariff includes a 25% discount for the monthly tariff for Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova, as well as a 46% discount for Ukraine.
It is noted that Naftogaz of Ukraine will start importing American LNG via a new gas transportation route to Ukraine in June.
However, no capacity has been booked.
Given the short timeframe and the lack of capacity bookings at the first auction of the joint product, it is expected that another auction for June or for a separate incomplete period of June may be held in the coming days.
In the future, auctions for booking product capacities for the next calendar month are planned for the fourth Monday of each month.
Capacity allocation will be carried out on the principle of an auction at a single price.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, operators from 5 countries have agreed to supply American LNG to Ukraine.
Booking of the monthly capacity of the product for June 2025 in the amount of 31,356,129 kWh/day was available on the Regional Booking Platform (RBP) on May 29, 2025.
