A balcony fell on a US citizen, who came to Ukraine to document the war, in the Podilskyi district of Kyiv. This was announced by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, in the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"A balcony fell on a US citizen, who came to Ukraine to document the war, in the Podilskyi district of Kyiv. Right in front of the entrance to the apartment building. The man was injured. This is not a hostile attack, but a consequence of many years of inaction," he said.
Tkachenko instructed the newly appointed head of the Podilskyi district state administration, Volodymyr Nakonechnyi, to keep in touch with the victim, take the situation in this building under personal control, and inspect all facades for damage.
"We will provide all assistance. And then there will be a serious conversation with the district management companies," he noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 26, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed 8 heads of district state administrations in Kyiv, including Volodymyr Nakonechnyi, associate professor of the Department of International Relations at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, as head of the Podilskyi district state administration.
