In the conversation, the US Secretary of State welcomed the prisoner exchange between russia and Ukraine in the "1,000 by 1,000" format, which took place over the weekend.
"The Secretary of State reiterated President Trump's calls for constructive, good-faith dialogue with Ukraine as the only way to end this war," the report says.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, said that US President Donald Trump is considering imposing sanctions against the aggressor state of russia this week due to frustration with russian leader vladimir putin over his continued attacks on Ukraine and the slow pace of peace talks.
The US Department of State has called for Trump's threats to tighten sanctions against russia to be taken seriously.
