The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy recommended that the parliament adopt two draft laws as a basis and in total, which propose tax exemption for fiber optic cables for drone production.
The head of the committee, a Member of Parliament from the Servant of the People faction, Danylo Hetmantsev, announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The committee recommended that the Rada adopt draft laws No. 13305 and 13306, which provide for amendments to the Customs and Tax Codes.
According to Hetmantsev's explanation, the said amendments will allow duty-free import, in particular, of fiber optic cables for drone production, which is critically important for providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine with modern unmanned systems.
He explained that such drones use an optical cable to control and transmit a video signal in conditions of electronic warfare.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are increasing the use of drones on fiber-optic control.
Unmanned systems on fiber-optic with a range of 20 km are already operating at the front, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said.
