The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (Energy Commission) has extended the current maximum prices on the day-ahead, intraday and balancing markets for another six months.
It was reported by the ExPro publication, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The relevant decision was made at the Energy Commission meeting on May 27.
However, the head of the Energy Commission, Yurii Vlasenko, proposed that the Energy Market Department begin the procedure for reviewing price caps in the near future.
It is noted that the following price restrictions will be in effect on short-term market segments for another six months:
- on the day-ahead market and intraday market: maximum limit prices from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00, a.m. from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - UAH 5,600.00/MWh; from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. - UAH 6,900.00/MWh; from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. - UAH 9,000.00/MWh; minimum limit price - UAH 10.00/MWh;
- on the balancing market: maximum limit prices from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. - UAH 6,600.00/MWh; from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 11:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. – UAH 8,250.00/MWh; from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. – UAH 10,000.00/MWh; minimum limit price – UAH 0.01/MWh.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early October 2024, the Energy Commission intended to increase the maximum limit prices for the hours from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. by 23.2%, from UAH 5,600 to UAH 6,900/MWh.
