A Spanish court has decided to classify the investigation into the murder of Andrii Portnov, a former adviser to fugitive president Viktor Yanukovych, who was shot dead in Madrid. This was reported by sources to the EFE agency.
Currently, according to the publication, the investigation is focusing on studying the recordings from video surveillance cameras located near the crime scene. The footage from the cameras installed in the university dormitory located opposite the school may be especially important for the investigation.
According to sources, law enforcement agencies believe that the crime was committed by three people - the direct perpetrator and two accomplices who helped him escape.
Experts are trying to establish what kind of weapon was used to shoot Portnov, as well as to clarify which bullets were used during the attack.
As the agency's sources clarified, "preliminary results of the investigation show that the killer fired at least nine shots into Portnov's back, as nine shell casings were found at the crime scene, although the exact number of bullets that hit him is still unknown."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 21, former Ukrainian politician Andrii Portnov was shot dead in Spain.
On May 21, the Madrid Security and Emergency Service published a video from the scene of the murder.
