In January-March, the Energoatom national nuclear energy generating company made a net profit of UAH 12.2 billion, compared to a loss of UAH 5.5 billion for the same period in 2024.
This was announced on his Facebook page by MP Oleksii Kucherenko (Batkivshchyna), Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Oleksii Kucherenko is the head of the temporary investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada on violations in the tariff policy in the energy sector.
The report states that the amount of accrued depreciation for the first quarter of 2025 amounted to UAH 5.7 billion.
Thus, a total of almost UAH 18 billion was formed before distribution for the first quarter of 2025.
"Of course, of the above-mentioned UAH 18 billion, some part is allocated to capital investments (I think about UAH 3-4 billion), and the remaining UAH 14 billion requires a separate justification for their distribution.
That is, only for the first quarter of 2025 - UAH 14 billion already requires justification for their further distribution," Kucherenko wrote.
Kucherenko noted that after the increase in electricity prices for the population in May 2024, Energoatom formed about UAH 50 billion of undistributed profit and depreciation for the year.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2024, the Energoatom national nuclear energy generating company received a profit of UAH 1.318 billion against a loss for 2023 of UAH 11.256 billion.
