President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had no information about what would be included in the memorandum, which russian leader vladimir putin announced after a conversation with US President Donald Trump.
He said this during a briefing.
"I understand that they (the US, Donald Trump - ed.) discussed this with Putin, with the Russian side. That in a bilateral format there could be an appropriate memorandum, which could then lead to a map leading to the end of the war, that is, to an agreement. A memorandum that would be supported by all or both countries, which also includes a ceasefire, let's say," Zelenskyy explained.
He added: "So far, I do not know this. In any case, if Russia proposes some memorandum, I think it will not be a secret, because this information always appears in the public space."
According to Zelenskyy, having received this memorandum or proposals from the russian side, Ukraine will be able to formulate its vision.
"As far as I know from our dialogue with President Trump, the Russian side wants to send us a corresponding memorandum, which will include principles, and they also want to see in this memorandum principles not only the principle related to the ceasefire, but also additional principles. I cannot give you an answer about what will be included in the memorandum, since I do not have this information," he explained.
Recall that on May 19, russian leader vladimir putin, after a conversation with US President Donald Trump, stated that the russian federation was allegedly ready to work with Ukraine on a memorandum on the ceasefire and compromises that both sides should make.
After the conversation, Trump stated that Ukraine and the aggressor country russia would "immediately" begin negotiations on a ceasefire and an end to the war.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, today, May 19, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump had two telephone conversations - before and after Trump's conversation with russian leader vladimir putin.
In particular, Ukraine and partners are considering the possibility of holding a meeting of Ukraine, russia, the US and European countries in Turkey, the Vatican or Switzerland.
