The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov announced the agreement on a step-by-step plan for implementing the agreement on the prisoner exchange in the "1000 for 1000" format.
He reported this on Facebook.
Thus, Umerov noted that during his report to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, he informed in detail about the results of the negotiations in Turkey and further steps.
"Despite all the complexity and sensitivity of the dialogue in Istanbul, the Ukrainian delegation carried out its work within the framework and in strict compliance with the directives set by the President. The key result is a preliminary agreement on the exchange in the 1000 for 1000 format," the message says.
The Minister reported that, on Zelenskyy's instructions, a meeting of the Council of the Coordination Headquarters for Prisoners of War was held yesterday with the involvement of all key institutions: the Ministry of Defense, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights.
"A step-by-step plan for implementing the agreement has been agreed - taking into account security, humanitarian and logistical aspects, and tasks for the coming days. Our goal remains unchanged - to return everyone," Umerov emphasized.
Recall that on May 16, negotiations were held between Ukraine and russia in Istanbul. After the meeting, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said that a prisoner exchange in the "1000 for 1000" format may take place in the near future.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the head of the Defense Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, said that a prisoner exchange in the "1000 for 1000" format may take place next week.
