Russian propagandists are spreading a fake about the alleged escape of the Ukrainian delegation's translator, who took part in the negotiations in Istanbul, in order to avoid mobilization. This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council in Telegram.
"Hostile propaganda is spreading a fake about the alleged escape of the translator from the Ukrainian delegation, who took part in the negotiations in Istanbul, in order to avoid mobilization. As "confirmation" of this lie, the russians are using a falsified video with the CNN Türk logo," the Center notes.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 16, the first direct negotiations in three years between the delegations of Ukraine and russia were held in Istanbul. The negotiations lasted a little over an hour, but the parties did not reach an agreement on a ceasefire.
The russians spread a fake about "rules of favorable angles" for filming Zelenskyy in Istanbul.
On the eve of the talks in Istanbul, russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "a clown and a loser." In response, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stressed that instead of real dialogue, Moscow chooses personal insults and this is not the first time that the russian Foreign Ministry "becomes a laughing stock."
