On the night of May 16, the air defense forces of Ukraine destroyed 73 of the 112 drones launched by the russian occupiers, another 36 were lost in location. Five regions were affected as a result of the attack.
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.
Thus, from 12 a.m. on May 16 and throughout the night, the enemy attacked with 112 Shahed attack UAVs and simulator drones of various types from the directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk - the russian federation.
As of 9:00 a.m., it was confirmed that 73 Shahed attack UAVs (drones of other types) were shot down in the east, north, south and center of the country. In addition, 36 enemy drones-simulators were lost in location (without negative consequences).
As a result of the enemy attack, the Odesa, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv and Kyiv Regions were affected.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on Friday night, russian troops attacked two districts of the Kyiv Region with drones, as a result of which damage to administrative and private infrastructure was recorded.
Meanwhile, in the capital on the morning of May 16, during an air alert, the consequences of another russian attack by kamikaze drones were recorded. A fire broke out in one of the districts of the city, there is damage to infrastructure and civilian objects.
