Russia strengthens air defense in Crimea, sacrificing protection of other regions - Navy

The russian occupiers are transferring additional air defense systems to the annexed Crimea in order to maintain control over the peninsula. They are doing this at the expense of other regions. This was stated on the air of the United News by the spokesman for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk.

"Sometimes it even looks a little strange - for us, not for them - because the real density of cover in Crimea is higher than in many other areas, in particular on the territory of russia itself," he explained.

According to him, Crimea has great both logistical and symbolic importance for the russian invaders.

Ukrainian soldiers have destroyed and continue to destroy enemy air defense systems on the peninsula, Pletenchuk added.

The Navy representative drew attention to the fact that under sanctions, russia is forced to obtain an electronic base for its air defense systems, and the aggressor "has problems with this."

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Navy previously reported that the activity of russian forces in the Black Sea and on the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula is concentrated in the air component, and combat aircraft and missile systems are also constantly present there.

Earlier, the Navy told how they record preparations for a missile strike from the sea and why it is necessary to look at the sky for this.
