"It will be a very meaningful moment!" he stressed.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also congratulated Robert Prevost, who took the name Pope Leo XIV, on his election as Pope. He expressed hope for the Vatican's continued support for Ukraine in restoring justice and achieving lasting peace.

We will remind you that yesterday, May 8, white smoke appeared from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel, confirming the election of a new Pope.

The decision was made on the second day of voting. Robert Francis Prevost became the first Pope from the United States.
