The Kyivstar mobile operator (Kyiv) announces the signing of an agreement to increase its share of ownership of corporate rights in Helsi from 69.99% to 97.99%.
This is indicated in a statement by Kyivstar, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The statement says that the investment in Helsi is another step towards fulfilling the investment commitments of VEON, Kyivstar's parent company, in the amount of USD 1 billion in the economy of Ukraine during 2023-2027.
It is noted that the signing of the agreement will not affect Helsi's operational activities.
The company retains the current management model under the leadership of co-founders Yevhen Donets and Yevhen Hubych and will continue to work in full on the development of e-medicine in Ukraine.
Helsi’s Supervisory Board will continue to facilitate scaling and attracting investment in the healthcare digitalization industry.
Another co-founder of the Helsi project, Samvel Hakobyan, will maintain a strategic presence on the Supervisory Board.
As of the beginning of 2025, about 29 million patients were registered with Helsi.
From December 2022 to December 2024, the number of application users increased by 2.5 times.
In March 2025, about 229,000 doctor appointments were created daily through the service, and the number of application downloads exceeded 10 million.
The total number of appointment appointments for 2024 reached more than 9 million.
During 2024, more than 1,600 public and private clinics cooperated with Helsi.
The number of medical personnel using the system in 2024 was over 60,000 employees across Ukraine, which is 26% more than in 2022.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in mid-August 2022, Kyivstar bought a controlling stake in the country's largest medical information system, Helsi Ukraine.
The largest shareholder of the VEON telecommunications group, which includes Kyivstar, is LetterOne Group, which was created by the founders of the russian Alfa Group, Mikhail Fridman, German Khan, and Alexei Kuzmichev.
In 2022, they left the board of directors after russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the imposition of sanctions against Fridman.
