In April, the Ministry of Defense codified and allowed more than a dozen and a half samples of Ukrainian-made ammunition to enter service, and since the beginning of 2025 - more than 60 samples of ammunition. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Since the beginning of the year, the defense department has allowed more than 60 samples of ammunition for various purposes to enter service. The largest group is for unmanned systems. The list of new products also includes ammunition for artillery and mortars, engineering, ammunition for small arms of various types: both Soviet calibers and NATO calibers," the message says.
The Ministry of Defense notes that domestic gunsmiths have also developed practical grenade launcher ammunition for 40 mm underbarrel or automatic grenade launchers.
"We are talking about two types of grenade launcher ammunition - inert and marker. The marker 40-mm grenade is equipped with a colored dye. Inert - devoid of an explosive charge. Practical grenade launcher ammunition is used to train personnel and bring weapons to normal combat," the ministry reports.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in April, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas stated that European countries provide more than half of Ukraine's needs for ammunition, recently outlined by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the level of 2 million units.
