US President Donald Trump has criticized the fighting between India and Pakistan, calling the strikes "a shame".

Responding to journalists' questions about the missile strikes between India and Pakistan, Trump criticized the conflict.
"It's a shame. We just heard about it," he told reporters.
The US President added that " people knew something was going to happen based on the past," because both sides have been fighting “for many, many decades and centuries.”
He also expressed hope that the fighting would end quickly.
India and Pakistan found themselves on the brink of a new armed conflict after militants attacked tourists in Kashmir, where 26 people were killed. An unknown group, the "Kashmir Resistance", claimed responsibility, and India blames Pakistan, which denies it.
On April 24, Pakistan announced that it was closing its airspace to Indian-owned or operated airlines.
On April 28, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that he believed a military invasion by India was imminent after militants attacked tourists in Kashmir.
On May 6, India announced attacks on nine targets in Pakistan and the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Following the attacks, Pakistan announced the closure of its airspace for 48 hours.
