Pakistan's Defense Minister says India's military invasion “immediate” - Reuters

Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said he believes India's military invasion is imminent after militants attacked tourists in Kashmir. His words were quoted by Reuters on Monday, April 28.

Asif said India's rhetoric was becoming increasingly harsh. According to him, the Pakistani military has informed the government about the possibility of an Indian attack.

"We have strengthened our forces because this is what is inevitable now. So in this situation, some strategic decisions need to be taken, so these decisions have been taken," the Defense Minister said.

Islamabad has appealed to friendly countries, including Gulf countries and China, and has also informed Britain, the United States and others about the situation, Asif stressed.

"Some of our friends in the Gulf have spoken to both sides," the Pakistani Defense Minister said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 22, a terrorist attack took place in the mountainous Pahalgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, killing 26 tourists.

On April 24, Pakistan announced that it was closing its airspace to Indian-owned or operated airlines, suspending all trade, including through third countries, and stopping the issuance of special South Asian visas to Indian citizens. For its part, India ordered all Pakistani citizens, except diplomats, to leave the territory by April 29, and also announced the closure of the main land border crossing between the two countries and the withdrawal of diplomats.
