Nova Poshta launches first gas cogeneration plant

Nova Poshta has launched its first gas-fired cogeneration plant with an electric capacity of 1 MW at the company's hub in western Ukraine.

This is stated in the company's message, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The message says that this is the first of seven planned gas-fired cogeneration plants.

Other plants are currently under installation and will appear this year, including in Kyiv.

"In addition to gas cogeneration plants, Nova Poshta has already launched two solar power plants and is preparing to install energy storage systems at three more facilities. The combination of various power sources, solar energy, gas cogeneration, energy storage systems and diesel generators will help the company guarantee stable operation," the message says.

It is noted that Nova Poshta previously invested a total of UAH 300 million in energy autonomy, and this year it plans to invest another UAH 150 million.

More than half of these UAH 450 million are investments in gas generation.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in mid-March, the energy company Nova-Energy, part of the NOVA group, received a license to supply electricity.
