The US Department of State has accused North Korea of facilitating the prolongation of russia's war against Ukraine and placed some responsibility for armed conflict on the DPRK.
State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce has stated this during a briefing.
"Well, we know this is pretty simple. North Korea is not being helpful. They’re not being helpful. There are other nations that also are facilitating this carnage, and their actions make it possible to continue. Third countries, like North Korea, have perpetuated the Russia-Ukraine war and they bear responsibility for it," she said.
According to Bruce, the US is concerned that Pyongyang is directly involved in the russian-Ukrainian war.
"North Korea’s military deployment to Russia and any support provided by the Russian Federation to the DPRK in return must end," she stressed.
She also stressed that moscow's actions to train North Korean soldiers violate a number of UN Security Council resolutions: "Russia's training of North Korean soldiers directly violates Security Council Resolutions 1718, 1874, and 2270, which collectively impose a broad prohibition on providing or receiving military training or assistance to or from the DPRK."
Recall that earlier russia publicly acknowledged for the first time the participation of North Korean troops in the war against Ukraine. They are fighting against the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kursk Oblast.
North Korea also confirmed the participation of North Korean troops in hostilities against Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast of russia.
