KSE buys golf club in Obolon - Mylovanov

KSE (Kyiv School of Economics) bought a new campus - a golf club in Obolon.

This was announced on his Facebook page by Tymofii Mylovanov, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The report says that the deal is for USD 18 million, a total investment of USD 40 million in the reconstruction of the building, new spaces, classrooms, laboratories, maker spaces, and territory.

“This is the largest investment in education at one university in Ukraine since independence.

This campus is for engineers, mathematicians, urban planners, psychologists, and everyone who Ukraine needs for stability and reconstruction, for the ability to protect us and rebuild Ukraine,” Mylovanov wrote.

Mylovanov added that they are not abandoning the past activities of the golf club and will support this sport.

“We will not fence ourselves off with fences, and we will open this part of the park to all residents. What was previously available only to the elite will be available to everyone. We are working with the Obolon community, and we plan to restore the summer cinema.

There will be no high-rises, no residential complexes, no cars driving around the park, no barbecue and no alcohol. There will be Harvard. For people. Open. There will be development and quality. Something that should have been there a long time ago, but was not. There will also be small sailboats and an academic rowing like in Boston at MIT,” Mylovanov added.

It is noted that KSE is a private university and an American non-profit organization.

All funds come from international and Ukrainian donors and KSE partners.

Since 2022, donors have transferred about USD 150 million to the KSE Foundation.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in early April, Volodymyr Ariev, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the European Solidarity faction, stated about a possible conflict of interest of the First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko in connection with her receipt of royalties from the Kyiv School of Economics, whose president is Tymofii Mylovanov, against the backdrop of personnel decisions regarding representatives of this structure in state-owned enterprises.
