The Ambassador of Ukraine to the UK, former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi said that modern warfare has changed dramatically, and victory now depends on the use of innovations and the latest technologies.
Zaluzhnyi wrote about this on Facebook.
According to him, unmanned systems and digital technologies have appeared on the battlefield, and traditional types of weapons are becoming a thing of the past. He emphasized: "Armored vehicles, which have been the basis of offensive operations since 1915, are now defenseless against cheap drones."
Zaluzhnyi also drew attention to the fact that high-precision weapons that used GPRS positioning are no longer effective due to the development of electronic warfare. In addition, he noted: "Cheap drones have appeared, and therefore it is economically inexpedient to use expensive missiles for air defense systems."
He added that the airspace over the battlefield has become inaccessible to manned aircraft, which has now turned into an auxiliary means of air defense, and naval drones have gradually occupied the sea space, forcing large ships to hide in protected ports.
Zaluzhnyi emphasized: "We all have to rethink the forms and methods of applying new technologies. This is a challenge for the whole world. And this is not only a matter of supporting Ukraine - it is a matter of joint readiness for a new era of war, dominated by technology, information and automation of decisions."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Zaluzhnyi confirmed the existence of a headquarters in Wiesbaden, where officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and NATO planned operations against the russian federation.
