Nasirov taken into custody, but bail set at UAH 40 million

The High Anti-Corruption Court took into custody the former head of the State Fiscal Service Roman Nasirov, who was trying to mobilize before the court debates in his case.

The High Anti-Corruption Court made this decision on the evening of April 24, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The panel of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court partially satisfied the request of the SAPO prosecutor and changed the preventive measure for the former head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, accused of abuse of office, which led to serious consequences.

The court changed Nasirov's preventive measure in the form of bail to detention with the alternative of posting a UAH 40 million bail. The court decided to take him into custody in the courtroom.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, after the former head of the State Fiscal Service Roman Nasirov tried to mobilize to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the SAPO prosecutor applied to the court with a motion to change his preventive measure to arrest with bail. The SAPO told how many defendants mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the stage of trial. Nasirov voluntarily mobilized to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the stage of court debates. However, after publicity, the mobilization order was canceled. The General Staff stated that Nasirov was indeed mobilized, but the order was recognized as illegal and canceled.
