US President Donald Trump said that his promise to end the war between russia and Ukraine in a day was a joke. He reported this in an interview with Time magazine.
"I said it figuratively, and I said it as an exaggeration, because to emphasize, and you know, of course it gets into fake news. Obviously people know that when I said it, it was said as a joke, but it also said that the war would be ended," Trump said.
The journalist also asked the American leader to predict when the war in Ukraine might end.
"This war has been going on for three years. This is a war that would never have started if I were President. This is Biden's war. This is not my war. I have nothing to do with it. I would never have this war. This war would never have started. Putin would never have done this," he claims.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 24, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski that the terms of the ceasefire between Ukraine and the russian federation differ from what the media is reporting.
As a reminder, Bloomberg reported that the US is demanding that russia recognize Ukraine's right to have its own army and preserve its defense industry.
In addition, the agency claims that Washington is demanding that Moscow hand over control of the Zaporizhzhia NPP to Ukraine, which was occupied by the russian army in March 2022.
