US President Donald Trump said that the aggressor country of russia allegedly offered not to seize the entire territory of Ukraine, limiting itself to Crimea and four regions in the east and south. This is supposedly a big concession.
The US President said the corresponding words to journalists during a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Norway.
Trump was asked what russia had already done as a concession to achieve peace and end the war.
According to the US President, russia's refusal to seize the entire territory of Ukraine is supposedly already a "pretty big concession".
"Russia's concession is to end the war and to refuse to seize all of Ukraine," Trump said.
He was also asked whether he agreed with the statement that Ukraine should give russia some of its territories in order to achieve peace.
"Well, it depends on what territory. We will do everything in our power, but they have lost a lot of territory," the US President replied.
Trump mentioned Crimea, which russia occupied in 2014. The head of the White House said that Ukraine "itself handed over" the peninsula to russia.
"There was no shooting, no fighting, nothing <...> I think it will be very difficult for them to return Crimea," Trump added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 24, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski that the terms of the ceasefire between Ukraine and russia are different from what the media is writing about.
As a reminder, Bloomberg wrote that the US demanded that russia recognize Ukraine's right to have its own army and preserve its defense industry.
In addition, the agency claims, Washington demands that Moscow hand over control of the Zaporizhzhia NPP to Ukraine, which was occupied by the russian army in March 2022.
