US President Donald Trump said that he could meet with russian president vladimir putin shortly after his visit to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, which is scheduled for May.
Trump told reporters during a briefing in the Oval Office.
The American leader's trip to the Middle East is scheduled for May 13-16 and will be his second foreign trip within the framework of his second presidential term - after a planned visit to Rome for the Pope's funeral.
When asked whether such a meeting could take place in Saudi Arabia, Trump replied: "It's possible, but most likely not. I think we'll meet with him shortly after that."
Recall that Saudi Arabia is currently serving as a platform for negotiations between Ukraine and russia, where the parties are discussing the prospects for a ceasefire.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 23, US President Donald Trump said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy could either get peace or fight for another three years "before losing the entire country."
On April 23, Axios reported that the so-called "final" peace agreement that the US handed over to Ukraine includes recognizing Crimea as part of russia and recognizing control over the occupied territories.
However, Kyiv is not discussing with its partners the issue of cession of Crimea or other territories occupied by the aggressor country of russia, as this contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine.
