Kyiv does not discuss Crimea concessions, as this contradicts Constitution — President's Office

Kyiv does not discuss with partners the issue of the cession of Crimea or other territories occupied by the aggressor country russia, as this contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine.

The advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Serhii Leshchenko has stated this, his words are quoted by RBC-Ukraine.

According to him, all Ukrainian negotiators who visit Saudi Arabia or France clearly tell their partners that the issue of Ukraine's territorial integrity is not under discussion.

Leshchenko stressed that the information space is filled with news about a possible cession of Crimea, despite the fact that the Constitution of Ukraine contains many prohibitions and restrictions.

He recalled that similar rumors were spreading ten years ago. Moreover, the current US President Donald Trump also spoke out on this issue.

"Then, even before his first term in the summer of 2016, he also said that the residents of Crimea would rather be with Russia than where they were <...> But this has not developed enough, we need to proceed from the fact that the main thing is to defend our Ukrainian national interests," said the advisor to the head of the President's Office.

Leshchenko added that some political statements made by Trump are nothing more than part of his policy.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the day before, Bloomberg agency wrote, citing its own sources, that the US is considering the possibility of recognizing Crimea as russian as part of a future agreement to end the war.

Recall, earlier the Axios portal reported that the Trump administration is putting pressure on Ukraine to end the war, but is avoiding pressure on russia on this issue.
