Yermak, Umerov, and Sybiha arrive in London for ceasefire talks

Head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha arrived in London (Britain) for talks with representatives of the United States and the "coalition of the willing" on ways to achieve a full and unconditional ceasefire as the first step towards achieving a just and sustainable peace for Ukraine.

Yermak announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Despite everything, we will work for peace. We will meet with American and European interlocutors who are in the British capital today. The path to peace is not easy, but Ukraine has been and remains committed to peace efforts... Today we will talk about ways to achieve a full and unconditional ceasefire as the first step towards a full-fledged settlement process and achieving a just and sustainable peace," he said.

Yermak stressed that in Jeddah in March and later at other meetings, Ukraine clearly demonstrated that it is not an obstacle to peace.

As Ukrainian News Agency reported, on Tuesday it became known that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was supposed to arrive in London on April 23 to meet with the foreign ministers of Ukraine, Britain, France and Germany, will not go to the meeting. After Rubio refused to fly to London, the foreign ministers of France and Germany made similar decisions.

According to media reports, Rubio refused to fly to London after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected one of the main points of US President Donald Trump's plan to end the war - recognizing the annexation of Crimea.
