AFU thwart offensive of occupiers on Sumy Region. Intensive fighting continues - Syrskyi

The Defense Forces of Ukraine have thwarted the offensive of the russian occupation troops, who tried to knock out Ukrainian forces from the territory of the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation and seize the border areas of the Sumy Region. This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on his Telegram channel on Monday, April 21.

Currently, intensive fighting continues in areas near the state border in the Sumy Region, as well as on the territory of the russian federation, Syrskyi noted.

"Following the order of their leadership, the russian troops are trying to knock us out of the territory of the Kursk Oblast and seize the border areas of the Sumy Region. However, the implementation of the aggressor's plan is being hindered by our units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, which, with their active actions, once again thwarted the enemy's offensive in this direction," the Commander-in-Chief wrote.

According to Syrskyi, before Easter he met with commanders, key officials of brigade headquarters, and chiefs of service branches to resolve problematic issues and provide fighters with ammunition and everything necessary to repel russian aggression.
