Number of victims of missile strike on Kharkiv increased to 114, emergency rescue operations completed

The number of victims of the enemy missile strike on Kharkiv on April 18 increased to 114 people, 9 of them are children.

The State Emergency Service announced this on Telegram, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Kharkiv. Emergency rescue operations completed... As a result of the missile strike, 1 person was killed, 114 were injured, including 9 children," the message says.

Psychologists from the State Emergency Service provided assistance to 150 victims.

Rescuers, together with the city's municipal services, eliminated the consequences of the enemy shelling.

In particular, 45 cubic meters of construction debris were removed, emergency structures from three apartment buildings and an educational institution were dismantled.

According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, on April 18, at about 5:10 a.m., russian troops launched a missile strike on the Osnovianskyi District of Kharkiv.

The hits were recorded in a residential area among apartment buildings.

Another missile hit a civilian enterprise, causing a fire.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that, according to preliminary data, the enemy attacked Kharkiv with Iskander cruise missiles.

One of them exploded in the air right over a residential area.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov informed that the occupiers hit the city with cluster munitions, which is why the affected areas are very large.

He specified that more than 20 apartment buildings and more than 30 private homes were damaged.
