Rada extends martial law and mobilization until August 7

The Verkhovna Rada supported the law on the extension of martial law in Ukraine from May 9 for another 90 days - until August 7, 2025.

This was announced by Yaroslav Zhelezniak, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Holos faction, on Telegram, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to him, the corresponding bill No. 13172 "On approval of the Decree of the President of Ukraine "On extension of the term of martial law in Ukraine" was voted in favor by 357 MP in total, with the minimum required 226, and for bill No. 13173 - 346.

The corresponding proposal was submitted to the parliament by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on April 15. The bills concern the approval of signed decrees No. 235 and No. 236, which provide for the extension of mobilization and martial law from May 9 for another 90 days - until August 7, 2025. This was the 15th vote of the parliament on these issues.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 15, the Verkhovna Rada extended martial law and mobilization from February 8 for 90 days, i.e. until May 9, 2025.

On February 24, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada approved the introduction of martial law by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in connection with the outbreak of war by russia and the announcement and implementation of general mobilization.
