Over 1 million hectares of spring grain crops already sown in Ukraine

As of April 11, 2025, farmers in all regions of Ukraine have sown 1,058,600 hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops.

This is stated in a message by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is noted that corn has begun to be sown in the Zaporizhzhia Region.

The report says that the largest area of ​​crops is barley – 612,200 hectares.

Spring wheat has already been sown on 141,100 hectares, peas – 182,800 hectares, oats – 106,100 hectares, corn – 20 hectares.

Sunflowers have been sown on 51,500 hectares, sugar beets have been sown on an area of ​​76,000 hectares, soybeans - on an area of ​​4,500 hectares.

Leading regions in terms of sowing rates: Odesa Region: 107,200 hectares (wheat – 6,100 hectares, barley – 33,500 hectares, peas – 59,100 hectares, oats – 1,400 hectares); Ternopil Region: 88,100 hectares (wheat – 14,000 hectares, barley – 64,100 hectares, peas – 4,100 hectares, oats – 5,300 hectares); Poltava Region: 86,300 hectares (wheat – 4,500 hectares, barley – 69,100 hectares, peas – 9,600 hectares, oats – 3,100 hectares); Khmelnytskyi Region: 84,900 hectares (wheat – 10,000 hectares, barley – 69,800 hectares, peas – 2,600 hectares, oats – 2,500 hectares); Mykolaiv Region: 75,600 hectares (wheat – 4,500 hectares, barley – 43,000 hectares, peas – 27,500 hectares, oats - 600 hectares).

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, as of April 4, 2025, farmers in all regions of Ukraine had sown 926,000 hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops.

In 2025, it is planned to sow more than 5.7 million hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops, which corresponds to the level of 2024.

The main feature of the new season will be an increase in the area under spring wheat to 227,500 hectares.
