As of April 4, 2025, farmers in all regions of Ukraine have sown 926,000 hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops.
This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that farmers have also started sowing sunflower.
The message says that the largest area of crops is barley - 551,800 hectares.
Spring wheat has already been sown on 116,500 hectares, peas - 164,300 hectares, oats - 82,300 hectares.
Sunflower has been sown on 33,000 hectares, and sugar beets have been sown on 64,800 hectares.
Leading regions in terms of sowing rates: Odesa Region: 92,300 hectares (wheat - 5,800 hectares, barley - 30,100 hectares, peas - 51,900 hectares, oats - 1,300 hectares); Ternopil Region: 87,400 hectares (wheat - 14,000 hectares, barley - 63,800 hectares, peas - 4,100 hectares, oats - 5,100 hectares); Poltava Region: 83,200 hectares (wheat - 4,200 hectares, barley - 66,500 hectares, peas - 9,400 hectares, oats - 3,100 hectares); Mykolaiv Region: 73,600 hectares (wheat - 4,500 hectares, barley - 42,000 hectares, peas - 26,500 hectares, oats - 600 hectares) and Vinnytsia Region: 72,600 hectares (wheat - 11,500 hectares, barley - 53,00 hectares, peas - 7,000 hectares, oats - 1,100 hectares).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, as of March 28, 2025, farmers of all regions of Ukraine had sown 551,800 hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops.
In 2025, it is planned to sow more than 5.7 million hectares of spring grain and leguminous crops, which corresponds to the level of 2024.
The main feature of the new season will be the projected increase in the area under spring wheat by 28% to 222,800 hectares.
