Syrskyi warns of threat of russian attack from Belarus. When it could begin

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, does not rule out that the large-scale Belarusian-russian exercises “West-2025”, which are planned for the fall, can be used to form a strike force near the Ukrainian borders.

He stated this in an interview with LB.ua.

“All exercises have a purpose. And one of these purposes is the covert creation of groups of offensive troops. That is, the visibility of the exercises is the most acceptable way to redeploy, transfer troops, concentrate in some direction and create a group of troops,” Syrskyi explained.

He also recalled that before the full-scale invasion in 2022, russia also deployed troops in Belarus under the guise of exercises.

“We all hoped that they would end, that the russian troops would return to their territory. But when the decision was made to continue these exercises, it became clear to me that that’s it,” he said.

Syrskyi stressed that this year’s autumn exercises are a serious risk that the Ukrainian command is paying close attention to.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 11, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that members of the government and their aides would undergo military training on a voluntary basis.

On March 17, the government of the federal state of Bavaria announced the need to prepare Germany’s healthcare system for a possible war.

Meanwhile, the German Interior Ministry advised citizens to “stock up on essentials” and “be prepared for the worst.”
