President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Oleksandr Nechytailo as Ambassador to China.
This is stated in decree No. 217 dated April 7, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"To appoint Oleksandr Vyacheslavovych Nechytailo as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the People's Republic of China," the decree reads.
51-year-old Nechytailo was Ambassador to Malaysia from June 2016 to May 2022, as well as Ambassador to the Philippines on a part-time basis (September 2017 to May 2022).
In February-June 2016, he was acting director of the Department of Asia-Pacific Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 1995, Nechytailo graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a degree in "Philology" (teacher of Ukrainian language and literature, Chinese language and literature).
Speaks English and Chinese.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in April 2023 - December 2024, Pavlo Riabikin was the Ambassador to China.
