Ukrainian Su-27 fighters are operating in the sky over the russian Belogorod Oblast, destroying bridges in Grafovka and Nadezhdovka, trying to isolate russian troops.
This was reported by Forbes.
The Su-27s are equipped with American and French precision bombs that destroy bridges, which complicates the enemy's logistics. The destruction of bridges across the Siverskyi Donets in Belgorod and Kursk Oblasts may become a key factor in this operation, Forbes writes.
The analysts of the publication emphasize that they do not yet know how ambitious Kyiv's plans are to tie up russian troops in the Belgorod Oblast. But if the goal of the operation is to establish control over a significant area of russian territory, then water barriers will work in favor of Ukrainian troops.
Ukrainian Su-27s do not have modern self-defense means, in particular, on-board electronic jammers. But during sorties they are accompanied by European F-16s and French Mirage 2000s, which have powerful electronic warfare to protect the Su-27s. Such tactics are yielding results: in a few days Ukraine has not lost a single aircraft.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed four russian helicopters in the Belgorod Oblast of the russian federation - two Ka-52s and two Mi-8s.
