Trump offers Zelenskyy to transfer NPPs to US ownership for their protection - White House

US President Donald Trump, in a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, offered "American ownership" of Ukraine's nuclear power plants, which he called "the best protection for this infrastructure."

This is stated in a report released by the White House, CNN reports.

Thus, during the telephone conversation, Trump "discussed the issue of electricity supply and nuclear power plants in Ukraine" and offered American ownership.

"He said that the United States could be very useful in managing these plants due to its experience in the field of electric power and utilities. American ownership of these plants would be the best protection for this infrastructure and support for Ukrainian energy infrastructure," the statement said.

In addition, during a conversation with Zelenskyy, Trump agreed to help find additional Patriot systems, "particularly in Europe."

The leaders also "agreed to closely share information between their defense agencies." White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told reporters that the exchange of intelligence for defense purposes will be carried out between the United States and Ukraine.

Among other things, Trump "fully briefed" Zelenskyy about his phone conversation with russian dictator vladimir putin.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, US President Donald Trump said that he had a meaningful phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
