Canada's new Prime Minister Mark Carney has invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to take part in the G7 meeting.
According to BFM TV, it was reported by the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to a spokeswoman for the Ministry, Canada, which holds the G7 presidency, has invited Zelenskyy to attend the club's next meeting.
"President Zelenskyy has been invited to the G7 meeting in June," said a spokeswoman for the Canadian Foreign Ministry.
The G7 meeting will be held in the province of Alberta in western Canada on June 15-17 this year.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the day before, Reuters wrote, citing sources, that the G7 threatened to tighten sanctions on the aggressor country, russia, if an agreement on a ceasefire in Ukraine is not reached.
Recall, on March 13, russian dictator vladimir putin said that russia allegedly agreed to a 30-day ceasefire, but immediately put forward a number of conditions to Ukraine.
He wants Ukraine to not receive weapons from its partners during the ceasefire, and to suspend the mobilization and training of new soldiers.
