Unlike the aggressor country russia, Ukraine wants to end the war this year and will not become an obstacle to this process. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said this in an interview with the Japanese publication NHK.
The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry noted that the administration of US President Donald Trump will need to put pressure on russia if moscow rejects the ceasefire proposed by Washington.
"Ukraine wants to end the war this year and will not become an obstacle to this process. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin wants war, and the world is waiting for an answer from Moscow," Sybiha said.
According to him, Ukraine will hold consultations with the US and other countries, since the participation of international personnel may be required to monitor the ceasefire. Sybiha reported that the Ukrainian national group will begin preparing a roadmap for monitoring the long front line, more than 1,300 kilometers long.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 11, the head of the Presidential Office, Andrii Yermak, stated that Ukraine expressed its readiness to accept the US proposal to immediately introduce a temporary, 30-day ceasefire.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine accepts the US proposal to establish a complete ceasefire, not only regarding missiles, drones and bombs, not only in the Black Sea, but also along the entire front line.
On March 11, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that it would be best for russia to agree to the 30-day ceasefire proposed by Ukraine.
