Zelenskyy tells what Ukraine will do if russia refuses 30-day ceasefire

Ukraine and the United States have discussed possible actions in the event that the aggressor country russia refuses a 30-day ceasefire, which provides for a ceasefire on the front line.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

He was asked whether the negotiations could be considered a failure if russia refuses a 30-day ceasefire.

"No, it will not mean that. The two negotiating delegations yesterday consciously went to this agreement, understanding that today, after our negotiations yesterday, everything really depends on the Russian Federation. That is, now the ball is in Russia's court. Now they must show their readiness for peace," Zhovkva replied.

He emphasized that if russia refuses a ceasefire, then by doing so it will show the world community its true essence.

Zhovkva also said what Ukraine intends to do if the aggressor country refuses a 30-day ceasefire.

"We will coordinate positions with the American side <...> Therefore, if the Russian side is not ready for peace, it means that Ukraine and the United States will continue to coordinate their positions — perhaps change tactics, perhaps make some other moves," he explained.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 11, negotiations between Ukraine and the United States took place in Saudi Arabia. The Ukrainian side expressed its readiness to accept the US proposal to introduce a 30-day ceasefire.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a possible temporary ceasefire involves a ceasefire on the front line, and not only at sea and in the sky.
