The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council, Andrii Kovalenko, reported that the Syzran oil refinery in the Samara Oblast of the aggressor state of russia was attacked.
He wrote about this in Telegram.
"The enemy reports explosions. In February, after the attack, this refinery suspended its work," the message says.
It is indicated that it has a processing capacity of 8.9 million tons of oil per year, which makes it one of the medium-sized refineries in the russian federation. Its products include fuel, aviation kerosene, and bitumen.
In 2015, the plant completely switched to the production of Euro-5 standard products. It processes oil from Western Siberia and the Samara Oblast.
"For the russian army, refineries of this level play an important role in providing fuel and are part of the logistics of the troops," Kovalenko noted.
Russian media reports that the refinery was attacked by drones, a fire broke out. Earlier, an oil refinery in Syzran, Samara Oblast, was attacked on the night of February 19.
In addition, the governor of the Samara Oblast Vyacheslav Fedorishchev said that "hostile UAVs attacked one of the Syzran industrial enterprises."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the russians said that on the night of March 3, explosions were heard at the Bashneft oil refinery in Ufa (Bashkortostan, russia), and a fire broke out.
