Norwegian company refuses to refuel US warships amid Zelenskyy-Trump row

A private Norwegian company Haltbakk Bunkers, which supplies fuel to ships, has decided to no longer refuel U.S. warships after U.S. President Donald Trump had a live argument with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Kystens Næringsliv has reported this.

"We have witnessed the biggest circus of lies ever shown on live television," said the owner of Haltbakk Bunkers, Gunnar Gran.

He added that the company has a "moral compass", so it is stopping the sale of fuel to the U.S. Armed Forces and their ships. The ban on refueling applies to ships that call at Norwegian ports. The company called on people to follow its example despite the possible loss of income.

"We support Ukraine. We have many Ukrainian employees, and we know how terribly this war affects them and their families," the company said.

At the same time, the Norwegian Ministry of Defense says that American forces will continue to receive the necessary supplies and support from Norway.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, last Friday, February 28, Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Washington to meet with Donald Trump.

It was assumed that while the two leaders would hold public and closed negotiations, representatives of Ukraine and the United States would sign an agreement on minerals.

However, during the public part of the meeting, Zelenskyy got into a fierce skirmish with Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, who also took part in the conversation.

Later, Zelenskyy and Trump had a closed-door conversation, but it did not last long. As it became known later, the Ukrainian President left the White House early, and the agreement was never signed.

Recall, a few hours after the incident, Zelenskyy said in an interview with Fox News that he did not consider it necessary to apologize to Trump for their public skirmish.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House was not successful and that the Ukrainian leader had overstepped his bounds.

Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope for normalization of relations with the United States.
