During a visit to Kyiv on February 24, European Commissioner for for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy Stéphane Séjourné offered Ukraine his own, more "win-win" agreement on "critical materials".
This is reported by Barron's.
"Twenty-one of the 30 critical materials Europe needs can be provided by Ukraine in a win-win partnership," Stéphane Séjourné said.
He emphasized that the agreement would be beneficial for both sides.
A similar agreement, but on stricter terms, is being demanded from the United States. Its President Donald Trump wants access to Ukrainian minerals as "compensation" for the assistance provided to Ukraine by the Joe Biden administration. At the same time, the agreement does not contain any security guarantees for Ukraine.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, U.S. President Donald Trump said that he is negotiating with russian dictator vladimir putin to end the war he started in Ukraine.
According to media reports, the U.S. does not want security guarantees to appear in the mining agreement.
