The Verkhovna Rada refused to adopt the resolution on supporting democracy in Ukraine.
This was written on his Telegram channel by Yaroslav Zhelezniak, MP from the Holos faction, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
A total of 218 MPs voted for the draft resolution No. 13039, out of the minimum required 226.
The resolution proposed approving the Verkhovna Rada's statement, which emphasizes the impossibility of holding elections during martial law, condemns the illegitimacy of elections in the occupied territories, and the re-election of russian dictator vladimir putin.
"In the event of organizing and holding elections during the period of the legal regime of martial law, all national and international principles of electoral law will not be observed," the statement says.
Attention is also focused on the legitimacy of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Verkhovna Rada.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada held the National Day of Prayer for the first time.
