The Verkhovna Rada held first National Day of Prayer.
This took place at a parliamentary session, which was broadcast by the Verkhovna Rada member from the European Solidarity faction, Oleksii Honcharenko, on his YouTube broadcast, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to a resolution adopted on February 12, Ukraine has a National Day of Prayer, which will be celebrated every year on February 24 - the anniversary of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Today's session of the Verkhovna Rada began with the performance of the anthem, a minute of silence, after which the spiritual anthem of Ukraine "God is Great, One" was performed.
In addition to the MPs, the session was attended by members of the government, representatives of the Council of Churches, European Commissioners, and representatives of many European countries.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada established February 24 as the National Day of Prayer.
