The head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), Vasyl Maliuk, said that russian special services were planning to assassinate him.
He said this during a forum marking the third anniversary of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in Kyiv, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Russian special services are not sleeping. In 3 years, we have discovered 102 agent networks. Among them are top networks. They (russian special services) wanted to eliminate the President of Ukraine... They wanted to assassinate Budanov and controlled this directly from Lubyanka," Maliuk said.
He added that after the failed attempts, the aggressor vladimir putin removed the head of the department who was responsible for this.
"We have documented all the FSB curators. Russian special services planned an attempt on me as well. They were preparing a terrorist attack in a construction hypermarket. Explosive devices were supposed to explode during rush hour. Thank God, thanks to the forms and methods, we were able to act ahead of time and document this. We work according to the law. And they act like real terrorists," Maliuk emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the special services of the aggressor country, russia, are calling on Ukrainians to hold protests and spreading fakes about street riots in different parts of the country. FSB agents were detained in the Kyiv Region, who were preparing new terrorist attacks in the region at the behest of the russians.
