In January, the number of applications to the "I Want to Find" project regarding missing russian servicemen in the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation increased by 29%
The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Indicative statistics - family members of missing Russian invaders are intensifying their search through the "I Want to Find" project. In January 2025, the number of applications to the "I Want to Find" project regarding missing servicemen of the aggressor state in the Kursk Oblast, where soldiers of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to destroy and capture Russian servicemen, increased by 29%," the report says.
Since August 2024, the "I Want to Find" project has received 3,081 requests regarding missing russian soldiers in the Kursk Region, 691 of them during January 2025.
The Defense Intelligence notes that over the 13 months of work, the "I Want to Find" project has already received 60,600 requests regarding missing servicemen of the army of the aggressor state russia, this number does not include the killed and is two to three times less than the total number of missing russians, since not all relatives have yet left search applications.
"I Want to Find" is a separate project of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, which began operating in January 2024 to facilitate the exchange of prisoners of war. The project provides information on the stay of russian military personnel in Ukraine as prisoners of war, which allows their relatives to seek from the russian authorities the status of prisoners of war, their inclusion in the lists for exchange, and the conduct of these exchanges.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War informed that in January Ukraine received a record number of requests for missing servicemen of the army of the aggressor country russia - 8,548 applications, which is 22% more than last month.
Earlier, information was spread on social networks that russian dictator vladimir putin said that russian troops had crossed the border with Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast and launched an offensive.
The Center for Countering Disinformation confirmed the attempt of the russian Armed Forces to withdraw from the Kursk Oblast, but stated that the enemy had been destroyed.
