Corrupt organization. US Congress proposes complete withdrawal from UN

The U.S. Congress has registered a bill that provides for the withdrawal of the United States from the UN and the cessation of funding for all agencies associated with it.

This is reported by Fox News.

The author of the initiative was Republican Senator Mike Lee from Utah. He proposed a complete withdrawal of the U.S. from the UN from 2025. Republican Chip Roy from Texas also plans to submit a similar bill in the House of Representatives.

Mike Lee argued his position as follows: "The UN has devolved into a platform for tyrants and a venue to attack America and her allies. We should stop paying for it. As President Trump revolutionizes our foreign policy by putting America first, we should withdraw from this sham organization and prioritize real alliances that keep our country safe and prosperous."

Chip Roy also criticizes the UN, claiming that the organization does not give anything. He said: "Despite all of the money and the attention, this corrupt globalist organization has, for decades, failed to prevent wars, genocides, human rights violations and even pandemics."

He also mentioned the scandal with the the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which assists Palestinian refugees and their descendants. Some of its employees, he said, may have been involved in the Hamas attack on Israel.

About a dozen other Republicans have announced their support for the project.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the UN has denied Trump's statement about President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s "illegitimacy."
