The opening of stores in Ukraine by the Dutch furniture and decor company IKEA is expected in 2025.
This was announced to Interfax-Ukraine by the operations director of the Lavina Mall and Blockbuster Mall shopping centers, Dmytro Lashyn, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The date will be officially announced by IKEA.
"There is very encouraging information that this will definitely happen this year, but there are two scenarios. The first is that hostilities will cease in Ukraine, and accordingly, this will happen very, very quickly. If the hostilities do not cease, the opening will take a little longer. Physically, they are already ready," Lashyn said.
According to him, the retailer is carrying out daily actions to physically update the store (cleaning, partial repairs, replacing the sign, removing old goods, etc.).
As previously reported by Interfax-Ukraine, a member of the board of the Ukrainian Association of Furniture Manufacturers, Oksana Donska, IKEA also already has orders for Ukrainian manufacturers "for the purchase of a fairly wide assortment matrix of furniture."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, at the end of June 2024, the Dutch furniture and decor company IKEA decided to return to Ukraine.
