Before the start of negotiations with russia, the European Union wants to strengthen Ukraine's position by providing Kyiv with military aid in the amount of at least EUR 6 billion.
Politico reported this with reference to three EU diplomats.
The aid package may become the largest from EU countries since February 2022.
It will include 1.5 million shells for air defense systems.
The media adds that EUR 6 billion is a minimum amount that could grow to EUR 10 billion or even more.
According to Politico, EU foreign ministers will consider the package on February 24 during a regular meeting in Brussels.
Recall that France is preparing a second meeting with leaders of Western countries to discuss Ukraine. Those who were not at the first meeting will be invited there.
